The Artist
A lifelong resident of Nova Scotia; artist R. J. Marchand is inspired by the natural world of his native province and beyond. For thirty years he has been working almost exclusively in acrylics and watercolours. His paintings exhibit an eclectic range of influences including impressionist painters and wildlife artists like Robert Bateman. His work, which combines elements of both abstraction and realism, reflects the natural and cultural life in Nova Scotia.
